'97 Ford Escort, Diagnostic Code Question
Q:
I have a '97 Ford Escort,
and the check engine light came on. I took it in and had a computer diagnostic
check done on it. The computer came up with code P1131. They told me this
was a dealership code. Do you know what this code stands for?
- Jerry
A:
That computer code
really has two meanings. The first meaning has a hidden message. How is
that? When they tell you it's a dealership code, that's secret talk. Yes,
secret talk for not knowing how to fix one of them new cars. The second
meaning? One of the oxygen sensors on your vehicle is not operating correctly.
In fact, that computer code even tells you which sensor it is. I hope
you were not charged much to be told to have your vehicle fixed somewhere
else. Because, what was really said was they don't know how to fix cars
