Bypass Tube

Removal

1. Drain the engine coolant.

2. Remove the bolt from the bypass tube bracket.

3. Loosen the clamp and remove the hose at the thermostat housing.
4. Raise the vehicle.

5. Remove the bolt and water bypass tube from the water pump.

Installation

1. NOTE: Inspect the condition of the O-ring seal before re-assembly.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Fill the cooling system.
3. Start the engine and check all hoses and connections for leaks. Allow the engine to warm up so that the water thermostat opens.
4. Stop the engine. Top off the coolant recovery reservoir as necessary to maintain minimum cold fill level.
