Front Suspension Lower Arm Ball Joints
Prior to performing this test, check the front wheel hub for excessive end play; go to Wheel Bearing Inspection-Front End Play.
- Raise and support the vehicle so no load is on the front suspension lower arm.
- Grasp the upper and lower edges of the (A) tire and move the wheel in and out from the (B) pivot center line.
- The front suspension lower arm ball joint is worn if excessive movement is felt while the wheel is being moved.
- Replace the front suspension lower arm ball joint if the movement exceeds 0.794 mm (1/32 inch) .
